Entering numbers followed by a decimal with trailing zeros will not immediately display the zeros. The default format for a number is the category called Number that does not display decimal. Here’s how to display zeros in a cell.
Type any number, followed by a decimal point with any number of zeros after the decimal point. The zeros do not appear.
Click Format > Cells. The Format Cells dialog box appears (See Figure 1). The first tab is labeled Number. In this tab is a Category: box that displays options such as Number, Currency, or Accounting, allowing the Decimal places box to display a chosen number of trailing decimals.
Type the number of decimal places to be displayed, or use the scroll arrows to increase or decrease the number of zeros after the decimal point.
After selecting the number of decimals to be displayed, click the OK button to finish the task.
